So the baby has been kicking a lot lately and it seems like every time it does and I want to show my hubby it stops kicking?!?!? Has this ever happened to you? We are at the stage now where they recommend “kick counting”.  I came across this interesting blog that talked about “what are fetal kick counts and why are they important” Usually the baby moves when I eat or drink anything, and i’ve noticed a lot of moment especially when I drink a big glass of cold water.
Here are some other tips from the article I was telling you about to get the baby to move:
Tip #1 Eat something. This should wake the baby.Lie on either side. Put your hand on your belly over the baby. When you count 10 move- ments you are done. The 10 movements should happen within two hours. Most women feel 10 movements in less than 30 minutes. Do this one time every day.
Decide when your baby is most active. Maybe at night or early morning. Follow the same procedure described above.
Things to remember about Fetal Kick or Movement Counts:
• A sleeping baby usually does not move.
• Most babies wake up and move when their mother eats or drinks something.
• Every baby’s movements are different.
• There is no official standard for baby movement other than 10 kicks in two hours.
• Be aware of your baby’s movements every day.
• Take the time to check movements every day.
• Make checking your baby’s movement part of your daily routine.

I mentioned before that Jason started Daddy boot camp and I couldn’t help but do a comic about it! When he came home he was full of great information so I had him quiz me and actually I did pretty good! Here are some of the questions he asked me, see if you know the answers!
What is an average temperature of an infant?
What is the best way to take their temperature?
When should you take an infant out in public?
When will you know if your baby is hungry?
How often will you typically change your baby’s clothes?
How often will you typically change your baby’s diapers?
How long should you let your child cry to “self soothe”?
I know some of these are pretty basic, but to summarize daddy boot camp it was all about how to handle your baby and keep it safe 🙂
Fact: Most people will ask FIRST, “when are you due?” then right after that is…..”Do you know what you are having?” It’s like clock work!
So we decided not to find out whether we are having a boy or a girl (thought it would be fun to make it a surprise, like the olden days) , but that doesn’t stop anyone from telling me what it is. It’s not even really that they are guessing, they are straight TELLING me what i’m going to have, which is pretty funny. If you don’t know what you are having either, you probably know exactly what i’m talking about, if not…well I guess i’m just fortunate enough to surround myself around magical people. If you do know what you are having TRY THIS* pretend for day that you don’t and see how many people will predict what you’re having! It’s like everyone has become psychic all of a sudden! 🙂 The really good ones have a scientific method to their madness…they scope you up and down like they are analyzing the symmetry before they blurt out there predictions. Others do a more detective approach and ask you questions like, “did you have morning sickness?” either way I find it very amusing! I also love the guessers too!  It’s like a little game, and they have there own reasons for there guess too which can be very comical , and 50/50 odds is pretty good!
Has this ever happened to you?? Hopefully i’m not alone here!
Since I did an “Average Night” comic I just had to do an “Average Day” comic! I think i’ve talked about my feet swelling, which I thought was pretty cool at first because I’ve never seen them that big, but when they start to hurt the coolness factor goes out the window and I immediately sit down and elevate my feet and the swelling goes down in about an hour or so…and yes I still use my cool booties that I wrote about a couple of posts ago, they are awesome 🙂
One thing I did want to point out is that I truly believe my body has developed new sweat glands while pregnant, i’m not exactly sure where all this sweat is coming from, but I never used to be a sweat-er and now….well…it can be a little embarrassing. Especially if i’m on my way to see a client, I have to make sure I don’t wear a solid color shirt because it looks like I got blasted by a super soaker in various different locations, all the more reason to love my strips even more!
And the bathroom experience, I’ve never really been a fan of public bathrooms, but surprisingly enough they are not used as often as you would think in places like, Target or the grocery store. So it’s not all THAT bad!
Hope you enjoyed the post/comic, if you haven’t subscribed to the blog yet, please do so, you will be the FIRST to see new comics!
