Dolphin Assisted Birth? Are you serious?

 

I couldn’t believe it when I heard about this new birth plan! So I just had to do a comic about it imagining what it would be like.  Dolphin assisted birth? Are you serious? The best part of this story is that these people are going to be parents!!! And that this “dolphin birth plan “actually exists in Hawaii. Here’s the thing that I don’t understand, isn’t this really dangerous? Lets set aside for just a moment that you are giving birth in an unsterile environment probably miles away from a hospital but couldn’t the dolphin kill your baby?  If you would like to read more about these soon to be amazing parents Heather Barrington, 27, and Adam Barrington, 29, you can read what they told the Charlotte Observer

Your baby is as big as a Papaya?

So a couple of things here…I still think its a little weird that all these baby sites compare the size of your baby to fruits and vegetables especially since half the time you aren’t exactly sure what size that fruit/vegetable is. Take for an example, Papaya…i’m sure there are around 3 different sizes at the grocery store and honestly I don’t even ever recalling holding a papaya in my hand?

On to my second topic, crazy names. I still don’t get naming your kids after fruits? Did you really run out of name choices that you decided to go down the produce aisle and debate name choices? If you are one of these parents, I would love to hear your logic? I mean maybe there is a great reason behind it? Enjoy the comic in the meantime, see you next post!

21 weeks Pregnant Summary and Update

How far along? 21 weeks and 2 days

 Baby Size:Pomegranate (According to the bump)
Total weight gain/loss: still Gained 10 pounds (141.4)
Maternity clothes?  Absolutely
Stretch marks? Yep, started to get them on my milkies
Sleep:  Not the best, been really congested
Miss Anything? being cold all the time...
Movement: I’m starting to feel it more consistently now
Swelling: my husband says my ankles…but I don’t see it yet?
Food cravings:  Chocolate Milk and eggs…oh and those cookies and creme drumsticks (still the same)
Have you started to show yet: Yep, I’ve got a little bump

Best moment this week: Finding out that a couple of my friends are preggo too!

Gender: we decided not to find out (yep still not finding out)

Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off?  On
Symptoms: Nothing crazy right now
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy and very productive 🙂
Looking forward to: baby shower

Transitioning to Maternity Clothes…

Ill never forget when I couldn’t fit into my normal size pants….it was horrible! I had a big meeting that day and nothing was fitting and it seemed like it happened overnight?!? Now if this is you they do sell a very clever “belly band” (I later got one at target) so they call it to get you through this transitional phase. Or i’ve heard of people just using a rubber band to get the button closed on there pants. (exhibit A)

 

In my case I didn’t really think of any of these solutions at the time and just tried to find anything that fit. Which I ended up looking like a “hot mess” And later that night, my husband was trying to be as sincere as he could but just offering for us to stay in that night. Needless to say, the next day was maternity clothes shopping!

Saved by the baby….

So I really really hate cleaning bathrooms, and it just so happens that chemicals are not good to be around when your pregnant. So….looks like I don’t have bathroom duty for a while, I just had to make a comic about it!
