Dress the Bump! Maternity Fashion!

Maternity Fashion! So I thought I would start keeping track of all my maternity outfits and hopefully help you find some cute maternity clothes too! I mentioned before that Old Navy is one of my favorite places to shop so you won’t be surprised that 80% of the outfits here are from old navy. The key is to wait till Old Navy has there 20% coupon. Keep in mind that not all Old Navy’s have a maternity section. If you live in AZ go to the old navy on Stapley and Baseline they have a good selection….considering… Please let me know if you have any questions!

Counting Kicks

 

For some reason, right when I’m ready to relax or go to sleep the “little one” wants to do a kick off dance party. It’s the craziest thing.Last night was a little more special because these kicks were the strongest I’ve felt so far, and it happened right in the middle of a deep sleep which can really startle you. And apparently when i’m startled I throw my leg back and pretty much drop kick my husband,  which then in turn causes him to jump up because he’s not used to getting kicked either and then the dogs are all freaked out because they don’t know why we have both been kicked….needless to say it made getting to sleep a little hard last night…

Is it okay to wear stripes when you are pregnant?

I was so excited that I actually started to like maternity clothes that I didn’t even realize that I developed a slight obsession with striped shirts. In fact it really hit home when I was folding clothes from the laundry….  (see pic)

Anyway, my husband so innocently asked, I thought stripes were suppose to make you look bigger? And though I was surprised with his knowledge on fashion that did not help my collection of shirts or for my new-found love of stripes.  So I may have gotten a tad bit angry….you just can’t predict these pregnancy hormones 😉 But it did make me wonder….so off to google I went and found a great article I’m Pregnant-Can I really wear stripes? and it turns out that stripes were a good fashion choice! So what do you think about stripes when your pregnant?

 

How to get people to stop touching your pregnant belly?

A lot of my friends warned me about the “belly touching experience” but I wasn’t sure what to expect and they were all right, It really feels uncomfortable. Think about it, as a female, when was the last time anybody touched your belly? How about a complete stranger? So I think I found a solution! People have been getting better about asking if they can touch your belly and when they do all you say is, “yep, if you touch mine I get to touch yours!” Works every time! And if they say sure, then they can experience how uncomfortable it is and that look they have on there face is priceless. I’m sure somewhere someone started the rumor that pregnant bellies are lucky or something like that, and if I could win the lottery with this baby bump then rub away but until then…make sure you ask. So hopefully I have provided you a solution to your next belly luck rub experience!

Dolphin Assisted Birth? Are you serious?

 

I couldn’t believe it when I heard about this new birth plan! So I just had to do a comic about it imagining what it would be like.  Dolphin assisted birth? Are you serious? The best part of this story is that these people are going to be parents!!! And that this “dolphin birth plan “actually exists in Hawaii. Here’s the thing that I don’t understand, isn’t this really dangerous? Lets set aside for just a moment that you are giving birth in an unsterile environment probably miles away from a hospital but couldn’t the dolphin kill your baby?  If you would like to read more about these soon to be amazing parents Heather Barrington, 27, and Adam Barrington, 29, you can read what they told the Charlotte Observer
