I launched this book on kickstarter exactly one week ago and the response has been amazing!
Many kindergarten teachers are some of my biggest supporters in this book and I keep hearing time and time again, that they are hoping this book helps the children who say, “I can’t draw” be more confident in their drawings. My goal with this book is that every child embraces their creativity and that their parents are excited about their scribbles, TOO! Scribbling can look like a mess to some and even I was guilty of encouraging my child to make something that I could “recognize” like a sun or an apple. But just like it’s important to learn how to walk before you run, children won’t be able to conquer handwriting until they’ve mastered scribbling.
In creating the video for this book, I ONLY wanted my children to scribble. I didn’t even want them to create something that I could recognize. But then something amazing happened…their imagination just ran wild! They told me what their scribbles became, whether it was a train pulling a caboose, a princess with one eyebrow, or a dinosaur. They saw something in those scribbles that I couldn’t have imagined and it was truly special! This is more than just a book about a Scribble. It’s about having parents LOVE their children’s art work, no matter what it looks like!. And it’s about children everywhere that feel like they are a little different, being able to shine through and become something amazing! I will be donating one book for every two that are preordered to keep art alive in schools!
